Studio Sessions
๐ธ Studio Sessions — How to Play
The Goal
Build a music empire from scratch. You start as a lone musician clicking out beats, and work your way up to running a global streaming empire — all while unlocking a soundtrack of 20 original tracks along the way.
The Basics: Clicking
The big circular instrument in the Recording Booth is your core action. Click it to record beats. Every click earns you beats based on your current Click Power, shown just below the instrument.
The VU meter pulses with every click (and with passive income), giving you a feel for how much you're producing.
Beats
Beats are your currency. You earn them by clicking and passively through auto-producers. There are two beat counts to keep track of:
- Beats — your current spendable balance, shown in the top-left header. This goes up and down as you earn and spend.
- Lifetime Beats — the total you've ever earned, shown in the header as Lifetime. This number only goes up, and it's what drives track unlocks, prestige eligibility, and some achievements.
Click Upgrades
The Click Upgrades tab (left panel) lets you spend beats to make each click more powerful. Upgrades range from a better microphone (+1 beat/click) to golden frets (+500 beats/click) and mixing desks (ร3 multiplier). Each upgrade has multiple levels — buy the same one repeatedly to keep scaling. Upgrades glow amber when you can afford them.
Auto Producers
The Auto Producers tab lets you hire people and build infrastructure that earns beats automatically, even when you're not clicking. Producers range from a Street Busker (0.1 beats/sec) all the way up to a Streaming Empire (6,000 beats/sec). Each producer type can be purchased multiple times — the more you own, the higher your passive income. Their combined output is shown as your Auto Rate in the header.
Unlocking Tracks
As your Lifetime Beats grow, new music tracks unlock automatically. The first track is free. Each subsequent track requires progressively more lifetime beats — costs scale steeply, so later tracks are real milestones. The Now Playing panel always shows how many tracks you've unlocked out of 20.
To listen, hit โถ Play. You can skip forward/back with โฎ โญ, toggle shuffle with โ, and adjust volume with the slider. Tracks play continuously and loop through automatically. Spacebar also toggles play/pause.
Achievements
There are 12 achievements to collect, visible in the right panel. Locked achievements show a ๐ and their unlock condition so you always know what to aim for. Unlocked ones reveal their icon and name. Achievements are purely for bragging rights — no mechanical reward, just glory.
Studio Stats
The Studio Stats panel (bottom-right) gives you a live snapshot:
- Total Clicks — how many times you've clicked
- Auto Rate — passive beats per second after prestige multiplier
- Click Power — beats earned per click after prestige multiplier
- Producers Hired — total number of auto-producers across all types
- Tracks Unlocked — progress toward the full 20-track discography
- Prestige Bonus — your current permanent multiplier (starts at ร1)
Prestige
Once you've earned 1,000,000 lifetime beats, the โ Go Gold — Prestige Reset button appears. Pressing it resets everything — beats, upgrades, producers, and unlocked tracks — back to zero. In exchange, you receive a permanent ร0.5 bonus added to your multiplier (so ร1 โ ร1.5 โ ร2 โ ร2.5, etc.).
This multiplier applies to both click power and auto income, making every subsequent run significantly faster. Each prestige after the first requires 10ร more lifetime beats than the last (1M โ 10M โ 100M...).
Prestige is entirely optional — you can keep playing without ever resetting.
Tips
- Early game: spam clicks and buy the Street Busker as soon as possible — even 0.1/sec adds up.
- Mid game: prioritize Auto Producers over click upgrades once you have several producers running; passive income scales faster.
- Track unlocks: don't spend beats on prestige too early — some later tracks require hundreds of thousands of lifetime beats, so let the counter build up naturally.
- Prestige timing: a good first prestige point is once your auto rate is high enough that you'll blow past the early milestones in minutes on the next run.
- The shuffle button is worth turning on once you've unlocked several tracks — it keeps the listening experience fresh.
